NVIDIA GAMING

Nvidia is THE TOP DOG in graphics cards with cards that cost as much as a brand new computer system- like the NVIDIA QUADRO FX580 - a $3,200 card!

We will stick with the 8800GTS SLI ready card with dual head DVI output and a built in fan - with 512MB of memory.

HARD DISK

A Seagate 750GB 32megs cache hard disk with serial ATA - or SATA 2 connection is enough storage for about 166 human beings - if you ever have to store their generic code! So we will stick with that!

MONITOR

A 20" DVI ready monitor should be enough real estate for all games. We will stick with the Asus VH202T-P 20"
WS 1600x900 20,000:1 5ms monitor. A very good monitor with excellent image and a shiny piano black casing. DVI inputs and regular VGA for grampa's and gramma's computer- if they ever need a BIGGER font size web experience.

MEDIA

We need one unit that does ALL - CD and DVD read and burn any type od data. We will pick the Pioneer DVR-218LBK Black 22X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual La (DVR-218LBK) a nice unit that does it all!

PRINTER

2.5-inch LCD and integrated memory card slots make printing photos a snap.
* Speedy printing and copying — up to 34 pages per minute in black and color. * 100-sheet paper tray capacity can handle larger jobs.
* 5760 x 1440 dpi max. print resolution delivers crisp, clean text and images.

NOW YOU CAN START LOADING WINDOWS 7!

and off course all your games, or burn your dvd's movies with speed and 1 device that is capable of doing many tasks!

Gamer System

What makes a computer system a fast enough machine to play games? CPU power is not enough since most games will utilize a GPU - a graphics processor unit - to render the game scenes. OK, then a CPU and a GPU? ...not yet. Most games needs fast clocking memories and fast hard disk.

The answer is, a combination of hardware parts - Teh CPU will do the main processing, a GOOD graphics card, will handle graphics, Dual Channel low latency memories will keep all in sync, and a fast hard disk will allow for a smooth playing.

So I am puting together a combination ok geeky hardware to have a fast computer that will play any game - and since games are the cuttig edge of computing, IT WILL RUN ANYTHING ELSE FAST!

THE CPU -INTEL 2.66GHz Dual Core

Why only 2.66GHz and not 3.2GHz? because you only notice a increase of speed higher than 15% - so a 2.66GHZ is about the same - for humans - as a 3GHz - and a 3 is about the same as a 3.2. However the price is about 3 times LESS than a 3.2GHz.Why dual and not quad? There almost nothing that will utilize quad core threads as far as software goes - some video and cad software maybe - but any high clocked dual beats a quad EASILY - because the code SUCKS - nobody writes flor quad and if they do the it is LAZY code.

DDR2 MEMORY

On the memory lane we will add 4 GB of NIVIDIA DDR2 dual channel memories to keep the processor busy

Now we add the GPU - by Nvidia - the 8800GTS 512MB SLI ready graphics card - you can add a second card and symmetrically connect the two via the motherboard - but that would be way too much power for most games! So 1 is more than enough.

The Complete System:
$1,150 plus Tax. $980 without the Nvidia Video Accelerator.

DUAL CORE INTEL 2.66GHz - 750GB SATA 2 HARD DISK - 4 GB DDR2 800MHz RAM - NVIDIA GFORCE 8800 GTS - DVD BURNER - GAMING MOUSE - LOGITECH KEYBOARD -- ASUS 20" DIGITAL MONITOR - LOGITECH SPEAKERS W/ SUB WOOFER - INK JET PRINTER - TOWER CASE - AND WINDOW 7 HOME.

MOTHERBOARDS

Asus leads the market with the best MOBO in the world and excellent online tech support.

We will pick the ASUS 5N-SLI ready MOBO - with suport for 4 sticks of dual channel DDR2, dual PCI expressII video card slots- Digital sound Gigabit network and Quad core CPUS.

CASE and STUFF

The case is one of the most important parts of a gaming system, because it must be powerful enough to drive all our hand picked accelerators and agt the same time able to provide for ample upgrades. A good case will run a bout $85 - a NVIDIA design case would add another $55 to that tab.

Put it all together and add a DVD burner, a gaming mouse, a keyboard - and yo have your system almost ready... what is next?

GAMING MOUSE

A good gamer knows its mouse... and a gaming mouse will offer the speed he needs. Forget about those WIRELESS stuff. THEY ARE SLOW... at least for the gamer.

Of course if you are typing they are just fine.

KEYBOARD

Again a good gamer knows its keys... and yes, forget about GAMING WIRED keyboard - BECAUSE THEY COST TOO MUCH and although a good gamer wil not live without it - I think $100 plus is a bit pricy. So we will stick with a good fast response Logitech regular wired keyboard!

SOUND

This is the final touch... Logitech Z323 Speaker System 30W RMS 2.1 Channel 9, a good decent and on a budget pair of speaker with a nice sub woofer.
